Mental Status During A Stall... and OT - I'm an Aunt!

Hello, you lovely VSGers. I've been away from OH for about a week now. My sister had a baby! After a rough 4 days of contractions and 15 hours of actual progressive labor, she ended up having a c-section on Sunday morning. I am honored that she and my brother-in-law wanted me to stay with them both in the hospital room overnight, and then in the delivery room when my sweet niece, Audrey Michelle was brought into the world :) I'm a pretty proud Auntie!

However, amidst all of the staying up all night, running around, taking care of family and my sister's in-laws, and baby snuggling, my eating has gotten WAY off track the last 6 days. Holy Moley. I threw myself into a big ol' stall! The scale hasn't moved in a week. I know I'm dehydrated. My skin on my face feels so rough and dry, as do my arms. I've been chugging water for the last 2 days to make up for what I deprived myself of at the beginning of the week. I also haven't been getting nearly enough protein. Really, I haven't been eating enough PERIOD. I've gotten back on track yesterday and (for the biggest part) today, so hopefully the scale will start moving again soon. I AM, however, proud to say that I've done very little "grazing." I'm beyond thankful that this was never a problem for me pre op.

One thing that I'm noticing about myself as I continue on the journey is that I tend to be pretty hard on myself when the scale doesn't show the results that I want. Yesterday was the first time that I'd weighed in about a week. 204.6. This was up from 204.2 that I saw last week. I knew that I probably wouldn't see a drop, given the wildness of the last several days coupled with the fact that I'm a bit... umm, constipated (there really no sugar coating that one, so I'm sorry for the TMI). I chugged my water, got over 70 grams of proteins, and kept carbs to a bare minimum all day yesterday. I carb detoxed, which is my gold standard when the scale slows down. Today: no change on the scale. Still 204.6. What I'm finding bizarre is how I immediately dealt with even the slightest gain. I've been having a "fat day" today. I have looked at myself in the mirror a few times today and been a bit more critical about what I see. Instead of "Wow! I've lost 90+ pounds!", it's been "DOES THAT LUMP LOOK A LITTLE BIGGER???" I used to wonder if I had Body Dysmorphic Disorder. I still wonder if it's there. It's something that I have to be aware of as I continue. 4 ounces does not necessarily equal regain. I'm actually pretty sure it only equals constipation this week!

Something that I want to pass along to anyone else who is still new to this... Stalls happen, whether due to life throwing obstacles or just because our bodies need to catch up, and we often can't control them. BUT, what we CAN control is our mental status during them. When the scale slows down, or even stops, keep your head on straight. You haven't failed. You haven't derailed yourself. Stay the course and remember how far you've come. Even if you've still got miles to go, you aren't finished until YOU SAY SO.

~~~EDITED 1/17 @ 12:30 pm~~~~
I broke my stall this morning... I'm not sure if I can even consider it a stall now since it only lasted 6 days... I was 203.6 this morning! I'm telling you, I am discovering tha****er is my absolute KEY to keeping the scale moving.
Is anyone else experiencing problems with their tickers? I'm only seeing a "?" box in place of mine... and I haven't done anything to change it. Grr.
A bunch of people's are doing that, but others' are not. Do you use an OH ticker, or one from elsewhere?
My tickers are screwy too. Congrats on the niece! What fun! I, too, have noticed the constipation and dry skin getting to me. I'm trying to stay hydrated and I feel like I'm guzzling constantly (except my 30-60 around food) but I stay thirsty. All that has to happen for me is one off day where I'm busy enough that I get behind on my water, and I'm struggling to catch up all week.
Congrats on the baby!!!! Snuggly Lil things. Yes the Oh tickers are tripping. So I started using my fitness pal ticker instead. Good luck on breaking that stall and the bathroom issue. I'm having that issue myself again.
