Fitness Industry

I am fast approaching 2 years out and things are going great.  I am curious to know if others thought about getting into the fitness industry after surgery? If you have done it, I would love to talk to you about it.

Blog Post about it: http://www.sheddingounces.net/2014/01/live-my-passion-sharin g-major-goal-of.html

Thank you,

Mario

Yes I would love to open a gym that caters to WLS patients and people with 50 pounds or more to lose. I think this is a market then needs to be filled. I have a lot going on with school right now once it slows down I am going to work on my business plan.

Haven't done it yet but I am looking into a personal trainer cert as well as a nutrition cert. I have done lots of studying and I was out with two of my trainers yesterday and I think I pretty much know what they know at this point. I am about to start a new job next week but when things settle down from that I think I will pull the trigger.

So i have been looking into this for a while. I am planning to get my NASM cert along with ignite 360 cert. I fly to Florida this month to complete the ignite 360 cert. I too have scheduled nutrition classes and plan on getting my specialization in weight loss and golf fitness (i played golf in college, its another passion).  This is getting very real and I hope it happens soon! ;) I do hope to work with WLS patients as well.

There is the part of me that will always think about what others think ( i know we are not supposed to care). I had WLS, so does that make me a cheater? I know the answer, but I feel like I will have to work even harder than others in the industry to prove I have what it takes.

I say GO for it !!!

It's funny how things can work out........

I'm in the business plan stage of something that could be quite something from my post WLS experience/education.

All the parts are just falling together into a "no brainer" (the sentiment of the knowledgeable people I've bounced the concept to) and includes fitness and nutrition.

Follow the passion.....

Great blog post! And I had to laugh because have been debating with myself all day about getting a tattoo on my wrist to celebrate losing 100 lbs. I'm indecisive though! To answer your question, yes! I know I am only 2/3 of the way to my goal and have a serious credibility problem, but I am realizing my passion lies in exercise and helping people. I just started reading the NASM textbook and plan to get certified later this year. Also working on finding a job to bridge the gap and get the hell out of market research, which is sucking my soul at the moment. I'm also wanting to start a blog - trying to find and reclaim my gift when it comes to writing.

I wish you the best of luck! The guy that is on the cover of the NASM book is my trainer - he has been my biggest mentor in this whole thing!

Wow, how cool! My trainer is a 20 year old kid from 24HF, but he's had a big influence on my life nonetheless.
