Will I ever be able to almonds, sunflower seeds, etc again?  I can't find the answer in my book.

Yes, eventually.  You would never want to eat that on a new sleeve though.  My plan allowed for almonds and sunflower seeds after a few months. I have no trouble tolerating either.

I can eat most nuts, but pecans caused me to have serious abdominal cramping just last month. I'm almost 2 years out from surgery and thought I was having a gall bladder attack.....acute pain for over an hour. After numerous tests, my PCP told me he thought it was 'dietary'. In other words, I ate too damn many pecan halves. I just love them and had over a cup....not at once, but you know....have a handful and when you walk thru the kitchen grab another handful. Do that enough times and it adds up to too many.

Spooked me enough that I gave away the rest of the bag to my niece.

Almonds don't bother me, but I'll not try pecans by the handful again.

Stay away from for a least six months.  Your new stomach can handle earlier, but nuts are a very dangerous path.  While generally being good for you nutritionally, they carry a very heavy calorie load.

Something like nuts can be over done very easily.  You don't want them back in your diet until you know exactly what impact it's going to have on your plan.  After about six months you should be comfortable with that choice.

Yes, you'll be able to but I'll echo what other posters have said....watch yourself with them.  I discovered that any nuts with salt on them became a trigger food for me - especially macadamia nuts!  No such thing as eating just a serving :-(   Now the only nuts I allow in the house are plain old unsalted almonds.

I was told to wait 6 months to make sure the stomach is healed. Have to say there was a few in things I ate over the holiday. Tolerated them fine.
