And feeling a bit sick and irritable........surg went fine and I just hope this crappy feeling passes soon.

It will.  Congrats on a good surgery and being on the other side now!

A couple more days and you will feel so much better!  Once you stop pain meds it gets better for sure...

I am five days out and have been thinking that I am not having a lot of pain, just discomfort. Realizing that the discomfort went away with pain meds, I guess that was actually pain. Bottom line, take the meds, they really help and will generally help your state of mind.
