"I wouldn't have known!"

I think that is the best compliment that I've gotten since WLS. I went to my PCP today (sinus infection, boo!) and she had a med student shadowing her. My PCP and I were discussing my recovery since surgery (5 months out as of the 1st) and the sweet med student said, "If you hadn't told me, I'd have never guessed you used to be heavier!" It just made me realize that I am finally remembering who I used to be before the weight took over and dictated almost every facet of my life... social situations that I would avoid and now embrace, my newly heightened confidence level, etc. Oh, I'll never forget where I've been, but it was just a reminder that I. HAVE. CHANGED. and life can be as different as I want it to be now that I am no longer burdened by such physical limitations. I won't forget, because I never want to become jaded, but I can definitely put it behind me :)
