3 weeks out don't care about food

I'm 3 weeks post-op and I really don't care about food at all. I eat because I know I have to get something in my body or I'll lose really slowly because my body is starving but I really don't have any desire to eat until my sleeve is so empty that stomach acid starts traveling up my esophagus. Like today, it's 11am and I still haven't eaten the cottage cheese I made for breakfast. Here's a typical day for me on my "pureed diet":

Morning:

Costco Premier Protein Shake

18 oz water with Crystal Light

1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1 tbsp of sugar free jam

Lunch:

1/2 cup soup or refried beans

Dinner:

1/2 cup soup or refried beans or mashed potatoes

8-12 oz water

Snack:

Costco premier protein shake

Is this normal and is this enough caloric intake? Does anyone have any more interesting ideas that are quick and easy?

Yes you are doing fine. That's right about where you should be. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Food ambivalence is normal at this stage of the game. Use it to your advantage to maximize weight loss. Your taste and desire for food will return eventually. Hopefully not soon. I did not do the mashed potato when I was in weight loss mode. Didn't do the refried beans either. I did protein shakes, Unjury chicken soup, other soups, yogurt, cottage cheese in very early stages.

Agree with Keith. This early, your stomach healing and you knowing what your limits are seem to be most important.  My doc had me on 80 g + of protein and 4 glasses of water by that time as my only  requirements.

Thanks everyone, that makes me feel better. I think I'm going to find alternatives to the potatoes and refried beans. Maybe I'll switch to black beans blended with ______??? Any ideas?

I eat refried beans every other day (low fat or non fat) and I think they are very sleeve-friendly foods. I don't eat more than about 1/4 cup but I love having a food that has both protein and fiber. Constipation is a *****!

I did eat the low-fat refried beans, 2 tblsp max, and it didn't seem to slow my loss at all.  Of course every surgeon has a different recommendation for their patients.  I enjoyed feeling like I was eating something that would "stick with me."  I still haven't had any potatoes.

Love the non-fat retried beans - I added a tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt.  Yummy!
