Tell me how water helped you lose!!

Ok so I KNOW that I KNOW that I'm supposed to drink lots of water and get lots of protein. I'm three weeks out from surgery as of yesterday and I'm feeling great but I have trouble getting my protein and water in. I just get distracted at work and forget to refill my water bottle and before I know it I've drank a total of 18 oz all day.

So motivate me people... tell me how upping your water and protein helped you lose faster or gave you more energy or whatever it did for you! :)

As for me... my first step is going to buy a bigger water bottle so I don't run out at 18 oz!

I just FEEL better when I drink more. Intelectually, I know that it flushes out toxins, yadda, yadda, yadda, but if I'm being honest? My main motivation for drinking as much water as I can? I aim for clear urine. I've always been prone to bladder spasms and UTIs, so that's MY main motivation ;)

Well for one I can almost certainly guarantee that you are retaining water, even if you are losing. Your body will protect itself and when you don't get enough water (minimum 64 oz) it will hold water. The thing abou****er is that it is very heavy. One gallon weighs about 8 lbs. So if you are retaining even a quart of water, that is 2lbs on the scale.

Water also flushes, so while your body is burning fat, the waste has to go somewhere and it gets carried out in your urine. If you do not urinate enough it just stays in there. You need to be flushing things.

Water is also very necessary for skin regeneration. No your skin will  not fully retract but getting plenty of water will help it retract more than it is going to now.

My trick is to walk out the door for work with four 16 oz bottles of water. Before I return home, all 4 must be gone. That is 64 oz. Now the rest of the day at home I have to get  the next 46oz in. My workout will get me through another 16 and I will force myself to get through the next 30 before bed. I also try to drink 8 to 12 oz before bed and after I get up and after I weigh myself I will try to drink 8 to 16 oz. I have also read it is a good idea to drink water before a shower or bath but I do not recall the reason.

I think a bigger bottle is great. Perhaps setting some calendar reminders so that you get up and get more.

I lost consistently for 7 months then stalled for 2...not fun. I upp'd my water intake to 12 cups a day and focused on protein between 80-100 grams. Bingo bango, the scale moves again!

I have 8 cups before I leave work so the rest are a breeze and I drink 16oz at a time.

Here some simple motivation....

Don't drink enough = dehydrated = ER visit = Extra $$$$ out of your pocket

It one of the potential pitfalls with sleevers (i.e. forgetting about it).

A bigger bottle DEFINITELY helps me - I use a 24 oz "ethos" bottle from Starbucks, and aim for 4 a day (but even 3 will get you to more than the minimum requirement).

Personally, have a goal of 3-4 bottles seems less intimidating to me than 8 glasses.

My skin has never looked better!

I struggled with my water intake in the beginning, not because I forgot, but because I had a lot of swelling and it took me all day to get in 20oz. I just didn't feel like myself. Once the swelling finally went down I was able to get in more and started hitting my goals. Personally on days that I don't get enough I have gained as much as 6lbs overnight. If I increase my water the weight melts off. I have been getting in close to 80 for the last 5 days and have been losing 2lbs/day. Your body needs to be properly hydrated also downside to not getting enough..kidney stones. I have been working on a big one that is breaking up piece by painful piece for 6wks now. You do NOT want that!!

I made it a priority because I didn't want to keep having constipation!  I struggled at first too but now I have no problem with getting my water for the day.  Good luck, try setting a timer on your phone and just restart the timer once you take a sip or two.  That helped me some at work as long as my phone was nearby.
