A stomach virus or something more sinister?

I was doing pretty well over the weekend. Then Monday night, I began to have diarrhea . By Tuesday, it was pretty severe and I was becoming nauseated. I couldnt drink or eat anything. Needless to say, by wednesday, I was at the local clinic getting two bags of fluids. So, I home now...not so nauseated but havent eaten anything but a bite of something, and although the diarrhea has slowed down, it is still pretty bad...... I feel like there is a lump in my throat, it even makes a sound when I swallow sometimes...( maybe because of dry throat / dehydration??) . But no stomach pain. No fever.

Could this be just a little virus or does it sound more sinister? Of course, if I am no better tomorrow,I plan to see my sleeve doc.  :(  Any theories, comments, stories?

I'm really sorry you're sick! I don't know how far out you are from surgery, but I felt like I had a lump in my throat for quite a few weeks after surgery. It went away on it's own as my stomach healed. I think you have a good plan to call your bariatric office tomorrow if you don't feel better. Hang in there!

it does sound like a virus, but I agree, call your sleeve doc just to be sure.  One thing my mother swears by when there's a stomach/intestinal virus is yogurt...give it a try.  Hope you feel better real soon.

While I can't say if it's the same for you, but I had a bug in June where I had pretty bad diarrhea for about 3 - 3 1/2 days. I was starting to get worried and I called my PCP's office on a Friday. They didn't' seem to be too concerned and said if it was still happening Monday to come in.... but thankfully it didn't last THAT long. I think planning to call your surgeon's office if it persists is a good idea. Could just be a bug though, I hope that's all it is!

Hang in there!
