This whole experience seems surreal!!!! I cant believe tomorrow is the day, I'm so ready to begin a new chapter in my life. I know it will have its ups and downs but I'm ready for what ever is in store. Thank you for all of your postings, you all have answered many of my questions and I look to you for continued support and hope I can help any of you out there that are considering weight loss surgery. My starting weight was 303, Im now three months later 267.

Best of luck with your surgery.  I'm sure it will go fine, and you'll be sharing success stories with all of us on the Loser's Bench!  I'll hold you in my prayers. Its great that you've lost some weight before surgery.  That'll really help in the long run.

Woohoo! Best of luck tomorrow!

A Few Words of Advice:

Take care of yourself and don't push yourself too hard. Walk, yes. But listen to your body and don't over-do it.

You're going to feel pretty crummy for the next week or so, BUT don't let yourself be in pain when you don't have to be. Take your meds and ask for different ones if the ones your surgeon prescribed you don't work or make you feel gross. (I say that because my Lortab made me itchy and I didn't do anything about it)

Don't be afraid to be a pest with your surgeon's office! You'll get great advice here, but there's nothing better than  answers from your TRAINED surgeon.

If you find that you can't tolerate your liquids, try different temperatures with your water or sugar free flavor additives (like Mio, etc.). Anything to get your water in as long as you aren't adding sugar and empty calories.

And something that I wish I'd known instead of seeing it in hindsight... Don't try to hold yourself to deadlines. Don't move on BEFORE your Dr. allows you to move to different stages, but don't freak out if you can't move on when you're able. I stayed on soft foods for almost 2 extra weeks when I could have been moving on to "normal" food. I beat myself up over it and felt like I was doing something wrong. I was just listening to my body and not pushing it too far, too fast.

Again, best of luck! Get ready for the Losers' Bench!!
