So they canceled me... my white blood count was still high :( They did reschedule me to the 19th, I have to be cleared by a hematologist... going to see them tomorrow! I'm not gonna lie, I was REALLY upset, hysterical... one because it was a set up and two... when they start talking about a hematologist and an oncologist and you start googling... it's not good! I cried myself to sleep, woke up the next day and truly decided that everything happens for a reason... there was a reason I'm delayed.... I'm going to go with that until then, it's only a week.. I'm trying not to stress.... it only increases white blood count LOL! Fingers crossed! I'll take any well wishes you want to send my way!

i had to go to a hematologist, with high white cell count, he discovered that I had it at least 10 years so it was no problem but they found a cloting problem that could have killed me untreated

almost all hematologists are in oncology offices most do both , I freaked also about that

Thank you so much! I know it's a good thing, can never be too careful. If you don't mind me asking, do you remember how high it was?

Prayers sent your way!  And yes, stay off Google.  Its never good to self diagnose.  My white count was up right before surgery and I was running a slight fever.  Everything worked out and I had surgery.

I was told I needed to see a specialist several years ago.  Found out it was a Hematologist/Oncologist. Talk about a freak out! I so understand where you are coming from.

Turned out to be a blood clotting issue ( as a previous poster mentioned).  Had I not known my surgery could have ended up with a very different outcome.   And issue I have is just an inconvenience.  That's all. Nothing life threatening.

Be well!!! Sending any good energy you need!
