Im Done! (with pics)
This morning I went under my twice revised goal weight and am officially calling it done. Im just over 11 months post-op.
Stats.
Age: 40
Height: 6'1
Start Weight: 169kg/372lb
Current Weight: 84.7kg/186lb
Total Lost: 84.7kg/186lb
BMI: 51 to 25
Clothes: 26/28 to an NZ 14 (thats a US 10/12)
What a ride its been. Ive been lucky and had no complications and while it hasnt always been easy, its totally worth every tear, stall, slip up and drip of sweat!
Im now at the bottom of the 2kg weight range I want to maintain in and I think my biggest challenge at this point is going to be stopping losing as I still lost a kilo last week. But my plan is to add a couple of snacks to my day to increase my calories.
My journey was not a low carb one. My approach has been driven purely by protein first and total calories eaten. For me, the rest really takes care of itself if I do those things. I havent been an exercise nut. I still admire those of you that get into marathons. Id rather poke my eye out with a fork than run a marathon, but I do have a healthy regular relationship with my treadmill.
At 6'1, Im never going to be able to fade into the background in a group, but I completely love that being the only reason I get noticed rather than being tall AND huge!! Normal is great!!
A few recent pics of my new normal :)
You look great! Congrats on making it to goal! See you over in VSG Maintenance!
