Metallic taste in mouth

I am 17 months out and have been on maintenance for 9 months.  Just started having a strong metallic taste in my mouth about a week ago.  Had bloodwork done 3 months ago and everything was fine.  Anyone else experience this?

I get a metallic taste after I eat my calcium chews. No other time. Do you notice after a particular food or drink? I remember I had a metallic taste my entire pregnancy also. Any chance of that?

HAHAHAHA - absolutely no chance of pregnancy at 58 years old.  The taste is not after any particular food or drink.  In fact, when I eat something the metallic taste goes away for about 30 minutes but comes right back.

Had to ask the obvious, sorry. There can be lots of causes or sometimes no identifiable cause. Could signal a health problem or not. Here is one link to some causes

Is there a chance you had pine nuts recently? At 17 mos out I doubt it would be reflux which I would think of more so early out.

There might have been some pine nuts in some hummus I had recently.  Do they cause a metallic taste?

They can, it happened to me once and it scared me away from them for a year. It lasted a couple days for me.

Interesting, didn't know that about pine nuts.

Usual culprit is ketosis.  You can go into ketosis even when you're not losing weight.  It's not a problem and will end sooner or later.  But, yeah, monkey-butt breath is no fun!
