Seems average from what I've heard. Anything under 40 is decent. They use it as a guide. One surgeons 36 may be another's 34 depending how they staple. If you trust your surgeon and stick to his plan, you will do great no matter what size he uses!

Thanks for weighing in on this. I trust him; just checking to see what is common.

Sounds pretty normal. Trust your surgeon.

My surgeon uses a 36 and from what I've seen it's a very common size. If it helps you visualize, at 9 months I can comfortably eat dense food like fish or chicken about the size of an egg, alongside about the same volume of cooked veg or twice that of salad.

If food is softer and/or wetter I can manage between 1/2 cup (baked beans, chili) and a cup. (Bean/veg stoup)

Length matters as well, so your volume will likely be a bit more. (I barely manage 5'3" if I stand really tall and breathe in)

I am 6'4; so mine may be a bit longer. I'm sure it will be fine either way.

Absolutely.
And a person who is 6'4" needs a bit more capacity than 1 my height, wouldn't you think? How soon can you have your surgery and start your new life?
