Allergic Reaction after Surgery?

Today I am a week out and of course last night my belly started itching pretty bad... it had itched previous just more like a healing itch.  This is an on fire itch.  Well this morning around my incisions it was a little red and looked like I was getting a rash around them.  Now they are much bigger raised red rashes around each of my 5 incisions.  I'm starting to think that I'm allergic to the surgical glue used to close my incisions. 

Has anyone had this happen?  Any suggestions to reduce the itch?  I tried Benadryl cream and it didn't do a whole lot.  Just want some relief!

You should contact your doctor regarding the redness. I too had intense itching and nothing seemed to help, but Vaseline seemed to help ever so slightly.

I actually work in a hospital and our surgeons nurse took a look at it today and said it was probably just a reaction to the glue , my incisions are healing great, and said I could use Benadryl, but so far Benadryl is doing NOTHING for it.  Ahhhhh.  I guess if its my only issue right now I should be quite pleased, but definitely makes it hard to concentrate.

I had the same thing happen, about the same time. Mine got pretty severe and miserable over several weeks and lasted probably a good two months before it was completely gone. I ended up on three doses if steroids because nothing topical would touch it. You should be able to see the pics on my site on here.
