questions
I just had my consult so I am a bit away from surgery. I was told by someone (other than my doctor) after my consult that you must be on a gluten free diet forever, does anyone have any info on this. My doctor never mentioned that and I would have thought something so restricting would have been mentioned.
That is partially true. Low carb diets are inherantly gluten free. A large number of carbs come from flours and wheat products. When you cut them out the gluten goes with it. But it is not specifically a gluten free diet. Meaning once you reach your goal you will not get sick if you ate a piece of wheat bread.
I specifically asked my nut about this at my last visit with her because I've done gluten free eating in the past in an effort to lose weight/eat healthier and she said that I should just focus on low carb.
