So, your Cookie Dough Greek Yogurt comes in at:

  • 300 calories
  • 17 g protein
  • 34 g carbs

Not really sure I'd recommend recipes like this for the weight-loss stage.

Oh it might be ok for maintenance, but not for a lot of folks on the start of their journey ;)

It does look delicious, but not weight loss friendly, so let's see if it can be made to work for those of us who still have to really watch the calories:

What if we swap the Greek yogurt for the zero fat version
Drop the honey and sweeten with Splenda or stevia
Swap the peanut butter for a tablespoon of PB2
Swap the chocolate chips for some cocoa powder

That would drop the calories considerably but the flavour would be similar, if not exactly the same. According to myfitnesspal, if I use 3/4 cup of plain, no fat Greek yogurt, 1tb PB2, 1tb cocoa, vanilla, salt and sweetener to taste, I'd be "spending" 143 calories for 22 grams of protein. In my world that's a reasonable deal - I think I'll see if we have some plain Greek yogurt I can play with for tomorrow's lunch.

I'd try to mess with the other one, but I have no clue of what pub cheese is, so am stumped. I've made a nacho flavoured dip with Greek yogurt by mixing in finely grated sharp cheddar and taco seasoning, then used zucchini slices for dipping, but I don't think that's quite what she's going for... (I thought it was delicious)

Tried this yesterday and it was delicious! The "real" version must be amazing.

You could drop the calories down on this some pretty easily:

1 small container of plain Greek yogurt - use fat free
1 tbsp nut butter (I used peanut butter) - instread substitute PB2 - major drop in calories!
1 tbsp sweetener (like maple syrup or honey) - substitute Truvia or another sweetener

1/4 tsp vanilla

pinch of sea salt

1 tbsp mini chocolate chips (I used Joy For Life)

It is still not a great option during losing phase, but it is a way to trim calories without losing the taste.

There is no need to apologize.  Since you're in your third year out and in maintenance i don't know what people are fussing about. Happy to see a healthy treat for those of us further along. They do look yummy.

I couldn't get to the pub cheese recipe (I am using Chrome, and sometimes sites don't work correctly -- I could get the photo, but nothing else)

Anyway, my suggestion, and I don't know if it will work -- is to see if the Unjury protein cheese stuff could be used in the nacho dip as a lower carb/higher protein alternative.

Thanks for the lower carb suggestions --it's nice for those of use who are still in the WL part to see some options!
