A Little Weird Sounding, but Tasty!

Finally on pureed and cottage cheese is allowed.  Big whip!  I don't like cottage cheese.  Even with fruit.  I don't care about sugary stuff, I want savory tastes.  However, not to be deterred from a good source of protein, I've been fiddling in the kitchen and found something that sorta, kinda, in a way reminds me of the flavor of a burger.  I put 1/4 cup small curd cottage cheese in a bowl, added 2 teaspoons of mustard, 1 teaspoon of ketchup, and a teaspoon of McCormick grilled burger seasoning -- mixed it well and ate it.  Not half bad.  I'm going to try the McCormick grilled chicken seasoning next, and then the steak one.

I'd have posted a pic, but it's not sexy enough to be good food porn!

Just wanted to share in case anyone else has warped tastes buds too.............

Thanks for the idea!!  I too hate cottage cheese.  I'm hoping the unjury chicken broth will help with the savory flavor.  I may have to try the cottage cheese though.

I'm with you, I don't cottage cheese either- not even with fruit. I crave savory food also. I found that I like cottage cheese mixed with a little bit of salsa. I'll have to give this burger way a try. Thanks for the idea.

Actually, I think it's a great idea! Know something else that is super good? Knorr vegetable soup mixed into cottage cheese or Greek yogurt. It has to sit awhile, of course, but it's yummy!

I can't have even that amount of lumps yet, but I've been pondering grinding the mix into a powder first, then mixing it in and letting it sit in the fridge overnight.

Extra old cheddar is also yummy mixed into either - perhaps with a little taco seasoning added?

For lunch today I'm having 1/2 cup Greek yogurt with 1/2 tsp Better Than Bouillon (chicken flavour) and the same of Patak's Butter Chicken paste mixed in. The flavour of butter chicken without the actual chicken that I'm not allowed yet.

I am SO done with sweet everything!

Answering my own post to say that butter chicken without the chicken is DELICIOUS! I actually used about a tsp each of the butter chicken paste and broth stuff. Used a tiny spoon and ate it slowly - yummo!

I mix a little ricotta with my cottage cheese and top with pizza sauce and heat it up.   Kinda taste like the middle of lasagna.

i love ricotta cheese.  for a dessert, you can add some sugar free carnation instant breakfast and freeze!  YUMMY!  Put some cinnamon and splenda on top or some nutmeg!  YUMMY!  Also PUMPKIN with the splenda, baked like a custard is awesome!  I like to freeze my yogurt for a while so it is almost like ice cream texture!

try Campbell's cream of potato soup, add a scoop of unflavored protein powder (the soup can't be too hot when you add the powder or it makes it weird) add McCormick's garlic and onion powder and just a pinch of shredded sharp cheddar.  Break up or puree the potato chunks before eating and this was a favorite of mine at your stage.  I needed something that wasn't sweet and I loved it!  Good luck!  Kim
