10 month update with pics
The good news first, I reached the 100 lb lost mark this week. The bad news is I only lost only 6.6 lbs this month officially. Now if I went my the weight I gained and lost from the cruise, I lost 12 lbs this month--I had to lose 5 pounds twice, lol.
While on the cruise, I had a body composition test done in the spa. I had been struggling with what my goal weight should be and had all kinds of questions about my lean body mass and so forth. I had even called my doctor right before the holidays to inquire about having a test done.
Luck was with and for $35 I had the test done. It was great! It gave me so much information and information is power as we all know.
Here were my numbers as of the cruise:
Percent Body Fat 26.2%
Fat body weight 39.8 lbs
Lean body weight 112.2 lbs
Metabolic Rate 1548 cal/day
Total body water 37.5 liters
The test recommended that my body fat should be at 22%. My weight at the time of the cruise (before gaining the 5 lbs) was 152. My ideal body weight, according to this test would be 143.8 lbs. Today I weight 148.4 lbs. That means to reach my ideal body weight I only need to lose 4.6 lbs! I can't wrap my mind around that! It seems like I should have to lose more. I am a size 8 in pants--I feel like I should at least be a 6 maybe even a 4. But do I really need to be? My 9 month question was "What is my lean body mass?" and I think my 10 month question will be "How small do I want to be?"

Thank you! I know I get long winded when I post--so I try not to do it too often, lol. The boots are way to big in the calves believe or not--they were from my heavier days and I had buy them with a special insert around the calves so they would fit. Now they feel comfortable and I don't want to give them up.
Way to Go! You look fantastic....
A bit about the body fat %....I'm at 137 lbs, a size 4, and at 32% body fat...so as you can see, it can depend on where your fat is, and what size you fit into...I am super lean everywhere but my lower tummy, upper thighs, and upper arms.
Your body fat % is actually pretty good already, and if you look at charts, you will find that to get to 22%, you will have to be pretty athletic and dedicated to fitness.
Also my trainer said that due to the skin calipers and extra, loose skin we have following WLS, it is impossible to know for sure how accurate it is, unless we do underwater testing. So although I was aiming for 25% body fat, I may not get there according to the calipers due to that loose, floppy skin.
I work out quite a bit and it took me 2 months to lose 1% body fat, but it is typical for it to go slowly, especially for females...lucky us...just keep at it, it is a great goal to have to reduce body fat % and be lean and healthy.

Wow, body fat is so complicated! I was surprised that my body fat was so low! I have only worked out for 1 month in the last 10 months--I know shameful--I really do need to go to firm up! I have hillbilly genes--it probably accounts for my freaky body fat %. My husand, who is extremely health conscience struggles with maintaining good numbers such as blood pressure and cholestral gets upset everytime I have blood work done because my numbers are always fantastic
