Liquid protein shots - diid you use?

In my quest to be prepared for my upcoming surgery I've been shopping and ordering an assortment of protein shakes and powders. I came across short tubes of zero carb 42g of protein in 3.8 oz in various fruit flavors. These seem ideal for the post surgery liquid phase but was curious if anyone else used a similar product. It wasn't list in then material I got from my NUT ( will call to discuss)
Tried 1 and it didn't taste too bad.
Curious if others have used these and if any reason I should avoid them. The brand I purchased was called New Whey but looking on Amazon there seems to be similar products by other companies

It's not listed b/c they are no good for us, most of the protein in them are collagen protein (you can look on the label) and won't be absorbed by our bodies, so you are not getting anywhere near the amount of protein that they claim to give. Do yourself a favor and avoid them, they won't do anything but hurt you in the long run.

Thanks for your insight
I read the label and yes it says protein matrix conftaining collagen protons as well as whey protein isolate but does not disclose how much?
I'll play it safe and check with my NUT
You can't trust a label

It should be a crime to call them New Whey. Someone a while back posted the details of their conversation with the actual company - it had very very little whey protein isolate. Seriously, if these were any good for us, OH wouldn't have so many posts about how to get protein in. If we could all take 2 shots a day and be done, post op life would be amazingly simple.

Just to let ya know, collagen is made from boiled cow hides, and other various parts of skin, hooves, snouts. . . Plus, those shots are missing vital amino acids for proper assimilation of the protein. It's guestimated that you're only absorbing about 2-4% of the whey protein in them if that at all. I used them sparingly after my band surgery before I knew the ins and outs of collagen protein, but never really used them as a main protein source.

Here's a great article on Protein supplements:

So i used the Proasis by Pro-Fect protien shots which are supposed to be "all natural" of course so is poo...the advantage in this case is that they are vegan and since I am CRAZY allergic to whey and milk this is a must. So I used them but they also are freakin nasty. My surgeon reccommended them for the first few weeks after surgery and then no more. I found them on amazon.com and at Rite aid the green grape one was the least disgusting.
