Really Emotional since sleeved.......

I am 37 days out and I am wondering if others have gone through this or still are. I am finding that I am a lot more emotionally sensitive. I get sad and upset a lot more often now, and before I if I was upset I could hold it in till I was alone....Now I have a hard time holding back. I am not saying I am upset all the time but it seems things 'get' to me more now?

Does anyone notice this in them?

You know, Saturday was to be my first meal and my fiancee screamed at me when i got the butter out and scraped literally a sliver off to get a little flavor in my scrambled egg. We had a screaming match and didn't speak to each other for several days. W e have since made up, but I feel like he broke some of the love I had for him. I'm afraid that I won't ever feel the same way for him again. I am hoping it is just my hormones, but I am worried that it is more permanent than that.

Ouch!  I probably would have had this reaction and I'm pre-op.  I have had a lot of struggles with food, and my partner knows better than to interfere!  She is a normal eater, and I don't want to hear her opinion about my food, end of story.

That said, most normal eaters have no idea how strongly and emotionally I feel about having others trying to control my eating.  Food is a way bigger deal to me than to normal eaters and she is still surprised when she bumps into that [Danger Will Robinson, Danger!].  Maybe your fiance learned his lesson.

The faster you drop, the more hormones released all at once.  It does get better, but emotions do run rampet for awhile.

UMS (Ugly Mood Swings) - definitely related to hormone release from rapid weight loss.  But there's hope on the other side - if you and your loved ones survive the UMS!
