NSV - Diabetes GONE

Hi all, just need to share some GREAT news!!  I'm 4 months out from surgery and the best news so far (even better than the weight loss) is that my A1C is now NORMAL.  1 year ago, it was 8.5 and I had to add insulin to my metformin.  Pre-op it dropped to 7.7 via diet and insulin.  After surgery, I stopped the insulin and metformin and at 1 month post-op it was 6.1.  Today it is 5.6, well within normal range!!

My CPAP pressure has had to be reduced twice also and I can tell that it's now too strong as well.  Next NSV, sleep apnea resolution!

This was truly the best decision for my health ever!!  If you have diabetes and are considering WLS, it really works!!

That is really exciting news.

This surgery does SO MUCH MORE than just make our stomachs smaller. It truly is metabolic surgery. It's almost magic.

That's a great NSV.

Best news ever.

Just have in mind that you really need to cali it "a remission".

I do hope that for you it is trully gone, but in some cases, a few years post op it returnes.

I agree completely, Hala -- remission is the more precise term.  Thanks!!
