One Year Post Op
Hi everyone! Today I am celebrating one year since my surgery on 9/12/13. I am down 144 lbs and weigh 138 lbs. It is below the goal of 150 that I originally set for myself. So many things have changed, but those nasty demons still pop up now and again. I have seen my NUT and continue with support groups, which keep me on track. I love my life and thank all of you for your great advice.
I am happy to hear you still attend support groups. Too many of us think we are "cured" when we reach goal. Definitely not true. This is a lifelong battle.

This is great! It helps me reiterate that I truly want to do the RnY. My doctor was talking to me about the gastric sleeve. I have looked at their forums and I was getting confused. For 8 years, I have researched and wanted the RnY. My sister had it done 7 years ago. The nut said I should set my goal as 160 lbs. I feel confident that I can get to 130. Reading your story gave me the confidence that I can do it. Thank you for sharing.
I had RNY on 10/30/13. A little less than a years. I've list 105 pounds and I feel great. We people ask I tell them, it has never been a secret. I consider myself a success story. I do everything my doctor tells. I went into this a 100% and it sounds like you will too. Keep in mind some doctors like to pitch to you the surgery that they want to do. Maybe your doc prefers doing the sleeve. Ultimately it's your choice ands like you know what you want!
