Are you a pro with protein?

.. if so, can you please give me some tips?

I have a really tough time with protein powders, shakes, bars etc so I am trying really hard to get it all in with food. I am 4.5 months out and while I am still trying to get my body to love at least 1 of the 500mil protein supplements that I have, I would love to know what foods give you the best "bang for your buck" when it comes to protein.

I love Dannon light and fit greek yogurt because it is 80 calories and 12g of protein

I also really like string cheese and things like chicken, beef, turkey etc but can you share some of your good go-to protein meals and how much protein they have in them?

Thanks!

-Ashley

I know for me personally I had to do the premade, ready to drink shakes for added protein. I love the GNC lean shakes but that is just me. I have a pinterest board http://www.pinterest.com/slgreen46/gastric-bypass-stuff/ if you want to check it out!

Dry roasted edamame, 1/4 cup 14 grams protein, tastes like peanuts sortof.

Yum! Do you make it yourself or do you buy it premade?

I buy it, there is a Big Lots near me that often has it so I stalk them and buy them out whenever I can!  But the grocery store has it too.  Sometimes I get dark chocolate covered ones tp add to my trail mix on big hikes!

Rotisserie chicken is my go to.  It seems to go down much easier than a lot of baked or grilled chicken.

I do not do yogurts and such.

Some of the pre-made ones are okay, the IsoPure chocolate from GNC is too sweet for me.  I drink a Isopure pre-made fruit flavored ones.  Grape, orange, apple melon are good.

I too love rotisserie chicken! I agree that it is much easier going down.

We are on the same path I believe with similar surgery dates and weight lost! :) I have heard about Isopure and that the apple melon is good, I will try it!
