Beans...friend or foe???
RNY on 06/11/12
When I was in the mushy-foods phase after my RNY, I saw refried beans on the list of okay foods. Oh dear lord I had the worst gas! It was torture. But that was just post-op.
I've discovered dried beans and how inexpensive they are. I prepare them by soaking them overnight. I add all kinds of fresh cutup veggies: carrots, parsnips, onion, garlic, celery; and herbs like cilantro, savory, thyme, marjoram. They make me feel so good. I can eat a nice portion and not feel awful. I find that beans and most homemade foods (not high fat or with sugar) make me feel so much better than prepared or restaurant food.
So in my opinion, beans are GOOD!
