Swimming pain??

I went swimming for the first time since my RNY yesterday. After just a few minutes my stomach started hurting...like kind of like acid burn, maybe. I got out for a little bit then got back in and it started again. Is it me, or is it surgery related? Anyone else experience this?

Hmm. Your surgery seems long enough ago that I would have thought light exercise would be ok by now, though I know weights/core exercises are to be avoided for at least 6 months. Could you have pulled something? I'd check with your clinic, just to get their opinion.

Oh, yes...I'm 9.5 months post op. It wasn't like a muscle pain...it was more like, I was imagining, that there was a lot of pressure on my stomach and it just started aching.

I had a lot of pain swimming for about the first 6 months..the water pressure on that one left side seemed to aggravate things. I just took it easy and kept going and it seemed to resolve over time. If it hurts at other times or takes a while to resolve after swimming, if it was me, I would call my doctor

Ok, thanks. Not really having other pain and it seemed to resolve pretty quickly after I got out. I have an appointment with my surgeon next week...I'll def be asking him about it then. I was just wondering if it was surgery-related and if anyone else had experience it.
