Walking....
I will be the first to admit that walking is not on my list of favorite things to do. In fact, for many years it has not even been on the list of things to do, or things I've done, etc. You get the picture. I don't like to walk. Maybe it's my weight, maybe it's my bum knee - whatever the day's excuse might be, I simply don't like walking and I try to do it as little as possible.
That is why I am so proud of myself today. At my office today that had a special "group" walk on our walking track this morning. I normally work from home, but was in the office today and really did not "plan" to join the walk, but at the last minute decided to give it a try. I was very nervous because there were about 50-75 people out there walking and I ended up in the middle of the pack so I had to try to "keep up the pace". I did not make it the whole way around, I did not even make it 1/2 way around the track, but I DID walk. (I probably made it about 1/4 of the way around.)
I know that part of the changes I need to make include changing my perspective on things like walking. I felt like today I made a change in my mindset. Before I would not have even tried to walk. Even though I didn't make it far - I did make the effort today and that is what I am celebrating
I used to hate to walk too because it hurt too much when I was overweight. Now I love to do 5ks because I can! I can't run because I have had knee replacement and that's a big no-no,but I can walk really really fast now. Just try to go a bit farther every time and before you know it you will realize you are having fun.

Good for you! You have to celebrate the little things so you can achieve the big things.
YAY!!
