Question about returning to work?

I'm just curious to hear what the average time is to return to work after RNY?  I realize it will vary based on the type of work you do, etc. but what was your experience? Please include what type of job you have (desk job, physical, outdoors, etc)

I have a desk job ... however I am work at home with this company so "going to work" for me literally means walking about 20 ft from my bedroom to my office and sitting at the computer.  I had gall bladder surgery two years ago and returned to work in about a week (I was not working from home at that time) and I'm just trying to figure out what I should expect with this.

I am a teacher.  I took 4 weeks off, but honestly could have gone back in 2.

I have a desk job, went back to work 18 days later, no complications with surgery.

I work from home. I had a hard time staying away the first week, but was back at work the second week after surgery.

Most people take two to four weeks, it seems.

I work from home, mostly sitting on my couch with my laptop, and I ended up having complications and being off nearly three months.  That's unusual, though.

By comparison, when I had my gall bladder removed, I had planned to take one week off but was actually able to work the day after surgery.

I work in an office. I had my surgery on a Tuesday, the 8th of the month and returned to work on the next Thursday, the 17th of the month.

Everyone is different on their healing time, but I could have gone back in a week if I HAD to, two weeks was ideal.

I have a desk job to which I commute.  I could have easily gone back in one week but the doctor insisted on two weeks plus one extra day so my first week back wasn't a full one.

I have a desk job and I had surgery on Monday, was doing calls from home on Wednesday, could have gone back Friday but went back Monday (after seven days).  Totally depends on your pain and experience, I think.  You could always take two weeks and go back after one if you are ready :)
