I had my surgery done on Monday morning and just got home late last night. When they were doing my RNY, they also discovered that I had a hiatal hernia and fixed that. I am so glad to be done with the surgery and now on to life. I am much colder since my surgery than I used to be and I jerk a lot when going to sleep? Anyone else have these problems? Any resolutions? Any concerns? Thanks

Are you syill on narcotic pain meds or phenergan?  Either of those make me jerk when I dose.  Congratulations on your surgery!

I had surgery Tuesday and came home this afternoon. I was on morphine pump at first and the next day was on Percocet. I noticed the cold and jerky/jumpy movements too. How is your gas?

I did not jerk when going to sleep but I am cold almost all the time now. My surgeon says it is normal and I will now be cold a lot of the time. I just wear more clothes in layers so I can peel them off if needed :-)  BTW - I am 3 weeks post op.  Congrats on your surgery and being home now.

Congrats. The first week is the toughest. Hang in there!!

I also love your quote. I have a ring with it engraved on it. It was my anchor during my journey. I still wear it and twist it when I am feeling stressed.

Congratulations. My first Christmas after surgery Irequested a pair of sheepskin lined slippers. I do tend to be colder than I ever have been. It has improved over time. My firsy year I was always cold.

I had the VSG done and 6 weeks post op.  I almost forgot about being so cold.  Especially when I was a sleep.  I felt almost like I couldn't move and my legs felt numb and ice cold.  It was not a pleasant feeling.  I think it lasted for about two weeks. Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm colder, but don't mind so much because I used to drip sweat ALL the time. I don't know how difficult summers were for you in the past, but I found them dreadful and nearly intolerably hot. This year was the first summer I enjoyed being outside in years! I'm paying for it now that it's winter though. BRRR! :)

Hope you have a speedy recovery!
