For those of us that have this constipation issue sometimes, is there a natural stool softener that comes in a pill or caplet form?  My surgeon recommended Miralax, but I gag everytime I try to drink it, It doesn't matter what I put it in... Help?

I have the unflavored Miralax and just mix it with water. Seriously, does not have any taste or texture whatsoever!  Is yours flavored?

I do the stool softeners from walmart or target in pill form. I take 3 at night. Non stimulant form. and I add the fiber powder to my drinks. Its always the walmart brand and it comes in a green bottle.

I totally understand what you're saying about the Miralax.  It's polypropelene glycol and it has a weird almost plasticky taste.  And the burps after are the worst.  I do it with exactly 8 oz of water so I don't have to drink a lot of it.  My doc just wanted me to do the Miralax until things became more regular and what I do now is add Benefiber to my Camelback water bottle.  My dietician suggested doubling the dosage so I do 4 teaspoons in one bottle a day and so far I've been back to my regular morning BM for a week solid.  The Benefiber is not gritty and has no taste and you don't even know it's there.  Try the softeners to get things going again, but I suggest definitely adding more fiber in some fashion.  :D

I use the Kirkland brand from Costco and take 2 at night and 1 in the morning - they are teeny tiny and seem to work a treat.  I also take 750mg of magnesium too.

I take 4 Phillips Caplets (each one has 500 mg magnesium).

Dulcolax comes in a pill form...not sure how natural it is. But I have taken it when I have traveled and not had room for a bottle of Miralax. Funny, I literally CANNOT taste it in plain water, nor can my husband.

Ducolax stool softener in a small red gel cap works well.

I use generic colace pills... available in most drug and big box stores (I get them in bulk at BJ's or Walmart 300+ to a bottle). I take those with each calcium dose.
I also use generic Benefiber 2 tablespoons in my decafe every day.
If that doesn't do the trick... I will choke down some MOM or use a suppository to keep things moving along.

I take a stool softener with my iron pill every night.  I also try to take Miralax once a day with my Crystal Light.
