Ok so here are my Lab results.. Just had them done this morning. Not sure on what some of them mean, but I know some are good, while others seem low.. But I don't exactly know how to interpret all of it.. I do know that this is the second time that my EGFR result has shown chronic kidney disease.. Not to sure what to make of that..  But if anyone who can read these things help decipher it, I would appreciate that as I do not go back to the Doctors for another 2 weeks.. On a good not, almost 75 pds down!!

All looks good to me except I'd take some more iron.

And I'd ask your doc about the kidney thing.

I'm guessing some of the vitamin and mineral levels aren't back yet if you just had them done.  Like vitamin D?  A?  Copper?  Zinc?  Thiamine?

I was told by the person doing the blood work that the vitamin and mineral levels are sent out and come back in a few days.. I know my potassium level was low shortly after my RNY but I do not see that on there either unless it goes by a different name.

Your protein level is low (prealbumin).  I'd also caution you to watch your B-12 IMO for me I wanted it above 1000.  How much B-12 sublingual are you taking and how often?

I don't see Vitamin D, PTH, B-1 or B-6.

I should have those back in a few days. I Would have to look on my vitamin pill bottle as I am not sure right off how much I take a day. As for protein, I am increasing that as much as possible. :-)

Your GFR was >60 which is normal. No problems there
Personally, at 3 months your pre albumin is a little low, but albumin is OK. Pre albumin has a shorter 1/2 life so is indicative of recent protein intake. Both are fairly flawed at assessing visceral protein status/ malnutrition. So... I would not worry much about that. Keep working on your protein intake and stay hydrated.

Personally I would want my B 12 a little higher, and I would make sure I'm getting enough quality Iron... ferritin is good, but iron is on low end and that can drop quickly, especially if you get a period (mine was nonstop for several months post op!) Or you develop an ulcer.

Again, this is what I would and would not worry about. Be sure to make a list of questions and concerns to discuss with your doctor.
