After I have the surgery I want to be able to eat cottage cheese and greek yogurt but the problem is I don't like them. I never ate cottage cheese before or plain greek yogurt  till this week to try it out, not liking them. Is there anything I will be able to put in them to add some flavor so I can tolerate them because I know they have protein ?

Dannon has some fruit flavored yogurt that is not bad. It's fat-free and only 80 calories for 12 grams of protein. The trick is you have to stir up the fruit on the bottom.

Walmart sells DaVinci sugar free zero calories flavoring for $2.98 a bottle (at least here).  It has Splenda in it.  I've tried the choc., cherry, amaretto, and raspberry and like them all.  A scoop of choc. protein powder in skim milk plus the cherry tastes something like a choc. covered cherri.

I buy the plain, fat free Greek yogurt from Dannon and flavor it myself with Splenda and/ or whatever flavoring you like. Sugar free syrups or flavored extracts work for me.
Hope this helps.

Try the Dannon Lite N Fit Greek vanilla yogurt or the versions with the fruit.  They taste MUCH better than many Greek yogurts (dont have that sour taste).  The fruit ones have some sugar, so might not be good immediately after surgery, but not enough to other most people a month or so out.

I put instant SF pudding in my light Greek yogurt and LOVE it !

Just a tsp really adds quite a bit of flavor

I mix refried beans and cottage cheeste and warm it up.

I wasn't allowed fruit chunks in my yogurt right after surgery, but found that I really liked the Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurt coconut as well as vanilla yogurts.  I never enjoyed greek yogurt before surgery, but love these now!  Good luck!!

I hated cottage cheese pre-op, but another OH poster gave me a great "recipe" for it.  Take 1/4 cup cottage cheese, add 1 packet of Splenda to it, then mix a teaspoon or so of cinnamon in.  Warm it up for 20 seconds in the microwave.  It is YUMMY!

I use lots of different SF syrups in plain greek yogurt - I find the sugar content is too high in any greek yogurt with added fruit.

I make my own fruit yogurt.  I use fat free Greek yogurt.  In my small food processor I put blueberries and strawberries with 2 teaspoons of splenda. Blend for a few moments then pour over 6oz of yougurt and mix.  It is delicious and has 22 grams of protein.  Good luck with your surgery and recovery !

I have the same problem! My nut suggested using sugar free jelly. It mixes in well and it doesn't have chunks of fruit!
