changing dr early post op
Just call the docs on your insurance plan and ask if they are taking new patients and will see someone that is post op. My surgeon close his practice when I was six months out and I had no trouble finding a new doc.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Call your insurance and see who they will allow you to go to, also if you had a case worker call them for help.
I had a doc 3-4 hours away from home ( with the band) I finally demanded my insurance find me someone close to home , I had to tell them that I was afraid of my original doc and they could not force me to go to someone I was afraid of ( because he didn't now what he was doing), amazingly I had a new doc with an appointment the same day .
Good luck , you do not need to be forced to deal with a doc that is not treating you properly
