I am a little over 2 months out and we are going to Cracker Barrel for dinner tonight.  For those of you who go there, what do you eat??

We don't have one where I live, but do they have a menu online that you can look at?

Enjoy your dinner tonight

Yeah, I've been looking at the menu, but really don't see any nutritional values on anything.  I am thinking grilled chicken tenderloins with my sides being mashed potatoes (no gravy) and green beans, or a salad of some sort, but I'm not sure what to do about salad dressings.  They have a grilled chicken strawberry salad that sounds really good......

The one by us has a Saturday special of chicken with rice. I normally get that, I dont eat the rice but the chicken is so tender, and very good.

If your eating protein forward I wouldn't fill valuable pouch space with salad or potatoes pick a meat you've tolerated and if there's room have a couple bitesof veggie if your plan allows ( mine didn't at that point).

I have only been there for breakfast/brunch, but I get the Low Carb eggs and meat. I substitute turkey sausage for the regular, and Egg Beaters for the scrambled eggs. It comes with toast, but I never eat it.They do have a few low carb items. I guess it would also depend on what stage diet you are on. I am almost three months out, and I am allowed pretty much everything now.

If you go to My Fitness Pal, and look in the database, they have many of Cracker Barrel's foods listed with nutritional information. Not sure if their menu is available online.

The chicken is a good idea but I would skip the potatoes and go with the green beans. The chicken is really tender! Have fun!

Good points.... I am on a pretty unrestricted diet at this point.  I am thinking grilled chicken tenderloins, green beans and pinto beans??  They also have applesauce too.

Now DH is thinking of going out for stir fry instead....... wish he'd make up his mind!! LOL

we eat at Cracker Barrel quite often and the grilled chicken is very good and moist meat. Not dry. Easy to chew. I always go for the green beans and you might need to know the applesauce has sugar in it and so does the fried apples. I don't tolerate sugar very well so I stay away from those. Sometimes they have cottage cheese as a side and that's good protein. Hope this helps~
