I posted about this yesterday but not much replies. I have had diarreah since friday night. I havent changed anything I've been drinking. If i take one small sip of something...... there I go. Before wls i always had constipation problems not IBS. Any reasons or advice to slow it down.

It depends on what you are eating/drinking.   Jane's explanation of liquids in/liquids out pretty much explains it, which is why you didn't get any further replies!

If you want more opinions, perhaps consider posting exactly what you are ingesting and then we can all post our $0.02!

Have you had surgery? If you have it could be the liquid in, liquid out thing.
It could also be c diff... an overgrowth of a bacteria in the intestines that is usually the result of antibiotic use killing off the good bacteria . It is very common in hospitals and can be debilitating. You may want to call you surgeon to see what they say. If you are not keeping fluids in, dehydration is going to happen....

Is your protein drink lactose free?  You may be lactose intolerant.  Check the label.  It should say 99% lactose free.  If you read the ingredient list and find whey concentrate, it contains lactose.  If you are lactose intolerant you need to find a lactose free protein powder and mix it with water, soy milk, almond milk, or lactaid milk.  I mix mine into my coffee every morning.  There are lots of lactose free protein powders out there.  Try to find a whey isolate powder.  They are lactose free.  I use Body Fortress Whey Isolate from Walmart.  It tastes OK and it's cheap ($22.00 per tub).

Thats the exact protein mix I have. I like the taste of it and yes it is cheap too.

Are you stressed out about something? Sometimes I have gastro-intestinal issues I believe are stress related because I have not eaten anything out of the ordinary (when I eat a lot of sugar, I have issues, but I know I caused those indecision).

I just went back and read your earlier posts. you are only 4 days out. It may take a few weeks for your bowels to adjust. Not much you can do at this point. Hang in there.

I had the same problem starting on day three post op. It was because of the liquid diet combined with intestines adjusting to the new re-routing. I tried switching to soy milk, almond milk, no use. Check with your surgeon but my relief was 1/2 an Immodium AD every day for about 10 days, then every three days for just a couple times after that. My surgeon ok'd this for me, but yours may just want you to wait it out. I did have bouts of IBS a few years ago so I know the benefits of Immodium very well.
It will stop when you start to eat solids and then you may have the opposite problem soon enough. Your body is healing and it will get better. Just hang in there.
