How much chili (I made veggie chili) were you able to have at 2.5 weeks post op?   My dr visit is tomorrow and I'm going to ask because the only thing in my paperwork says 2 oz of solid meat.    I was able to have 1/3 a cup, I measured before I ate.

Lordy, 2.5 weeks out and solid meat is allowed?  I thought my doctor was aggressive but that's still pureed foods for me.

I wasn't allowed chilli until week four but I was able to eat between 1/4 & 1/2 cup. It is one of my favorite things to eat now. In fact I ate 3/4cup tonight for dinner.

So I do the best with chilli at 10 weeks out.  I eat slowly, chew well and I can comfortably eat way fore than 12 ounces.

I am 3 weeks out and I've had chili several times.  I can tolerate about 1/4 cup.  My doctor's plan says only proteins  (including lean ground meat) for the first month (after the first week).  I've had bean soup with well cooked ham, too.  Of course, I have the usual yogurt and cottage cheese, too.  I am eating 2 to 3 tiny meals/day.  I eat a half of a container of yogurt and about 1/4 cup of cottage cheese.  A scrambled egg works, too.  I've had shrimp and crab, too.  I just be sure to chew everything well and stop before I feel a lump in my chest.

I ate chili within the first two weeks my dr sent me home on a soft food diet but I didn't try any soft foods for about the first two weeks I could barely eat any but a couple of bites but I remember thinking those were the best two bites of my life.  I would get chili from Wendys and just nibble on it.

mmmmm chili. Sorry I am on day 8 of pre op liquid diet, it is 20 degrees outside, and I make the best chili around. I made a final meal chili, blended up the left overs and tossed them in 4 oz containers in the freezer. Can't wait...

I'm 4 months out and I don't think I eat 1/3 cup of actual food all day !! I'm envious of you !!!!
