Um today is weigh in day. I weighed myself 3 times because I couldn't believe my eyes. 311lbs!! That's a 15lb loss this week. I had a 2lbs loss last week and I didn't weigh myself all week since it's that time of the month and I figured I was retaining water. 10 weeks post op on Monday. Man and the last 2 days I thought were crappy ones too (I was really bad about my protein and fluids... Only got in about 40g and about 50oz each day when I usually get double that. I know I know shame on me. Todays a new day :D)

Anyone else ever have a loss that big? Like I said I weighed myself 3 times and it only differed by a couple ounces each time. Man I need to update my tracker when I get home! So excited!

Oh also... anyone know a good way to burn belly fat? I seem to be losing a lot in my upper body but my tummy not so much. I'm finding jeans that fit my waste are big in the legs and I look frumpy. Hahahaha ohhh the woes of losing weight right?? :P

2 things:

1) Not to be negative, but weigh yourself again tomorrow to make sure it wasn't some kind of dehydration/water weight fluke.  I had a 4 lb loss on Tuesday (I also weighed three times because I didn't believe it), but it was all back the next morning.  I'm very sad about this, but my dietician said she thinks I was dehydrated on the "light" day.  I hope your loss is real and your weight keeps going down!!

2) My surgeon told me to expect to "melt like a snowman", meaning head, neck, chest first, belly later.  And he was totally right.  I carry most of my weight in my stomach, but my neck and shoulders look much thinner now.  I can even kind of see my collar bones!  It's been a little discouraging that my belly doesn't seem to be losing much fat, but I figure it'll get there soon.  I hope.

Good luck!

Yeah same happened to me! I went down like 10# in one day. Next day I was back up I also weighed so many times. Congrats though if it stays the same tomorrow!!!

As the others have said, it is very common to have water retention (or mild dehydration) contribute to a 5 or 6 pound gain or loss.  Check your weight again in a couple of days.  If you only got 50 ounces of water for a couple of days, it is possible that you were somewhat dehydrated and therefore your weight was lower than it actually is.

There is no way to control where you lose the weight from or in what order.  Your body does what it wants to do.  Also, people generally carry less excess weight in their face, arms, lower legs, etc., so even a small loss of fat in those places is much more noticeable than a small loss in an area where there is a significant amount of excess weight such as the abdomen, breasts, rear end, or thighs.

Thanks for the responses. I look at it this way even if I gain half of that back from fluids it's still an overall loss which is what matters. Either way I'm back on track with my fluids and protein today. I start a new job Monday, which is awesome. I do feel like I'm melting like a snowman. I just said to my mom yesterday I feel like I have shrunk a lot width wise in my shoulders/upper body. Anyway, I'm happy! And appreciate the responses and kind words!
