I am still hungry after my 30g of protein a day, what can I do?  I have been tempted to eat more, but should I?  Should I contact my NUT on Monday to let her know that the 30g of protein is not filling?

Go for a walk, knit, write a letter, clean a room. Do something rather than think about your hunger.

how far post op are you??? I have never heard of anyone being told 30 grams. Normally its 60 grams of protein. Are you tracking your food intake? You should be getting 50 grams of carbs...from beans, veggies, ect. not the white stuff. And really 60 grams of protein is the standard for the first 3 months. I will be 3 months on Monday and I was just told 100 grams is what i need now, plus 100 grams of carbs.

I am 5 weeks post op.  I am allowed 30-40g of protein/day.  1/4 cup servings.  This is not filling at all especially since I was sick one week and the surgeon pushed my diet back by one week so I'm always a week behind.  I had the thought that maybe broth could help solve this problem--what are your thoughts?

I am 5 wks. post op.  I can have up to 40g of protein/day at 1/4 cup servings.  I'm scheduled to eat four times per day--that's about 10g of protein per serving.  I'm in the chicken and turkey phase.

I see what you mean because as my appetite has increased so have the cravings for junk food that I did not crave before when I was filling full.  Of course, I would never act on these feelings but I have to admit that they do exist and confront them head on.

I'd call your NUT. I was definitely eating more than that at your stage. Good luck!

You are eating way too little protein. I know our plans differ, but honestly have never heard of anyone eating so little protein. I've had at least 80 grams a day since day 3.
