Question about diet after a vomiting incident
I had not discussed this with my surgeon and probably should have...
I ate turkey last night and it did not go down. I didn't chew it down good enough and an hour later I threw up. I must have still had some backed up because I threw up again an hour after the first incident. Then I went to bed. So my question is - do I need to do a liquid diet today or mushy food? Figured I would get a quicker answer here then calling my doctor who could take hours to call me back. I had a protein shake fro breakfast (which is usual) and been drinking water and had some cottage cheese. But it is lunch time and I am wondering if I should do another protein shake or if I can eat something else.
Thanks for any input you have.

I've had a few vomiting incidents, related to (I think) my not chewing my food well enough and/or eating too fast. The times it's happened, I can't (and don't want to) eat for several hours afterwards, but when I finally eat again, I really make sure I go slowly, and so far, haven't had any problems. I just saw my doc yesterday, and told him about these episodes, and since it isn't a regular occurrence, he wasn't really concerned, and didn't offer any advice other than to agree that I should slow down, LOL!
If I were you, I'd just evaluate how your tummy feels, try something like maybe tuna salad or egg salad (not a real solid protein, like chicken or beef), go slowly, and see what happens.
Not sure if this is helpful, but at any rate, hope things go better today.
