1 year post op
It's hard to believe it, but Sept 19th was my 1-year surgiversary. I am thrilled beyond words, and living out a childhood dream of showing horses. I have 2 big shows in October, and just purchased a complete show outfit, complete with leather chaps that don't quite fit right... yet! I needed some motivation to get myself working out again, and this has done the trick. I took my stationary bike to work and every day during lunch do about 25 minutes, and walk with a neighbor most evenings. I will post updated pics at when I show my horse, but for now, here's some before and current photos.
PS: Some of you may remember I had a disagreement with my Dr about my rate of weightloss at my 6-month appt. After some soul-searching, I reached out to my PCP to have her handle my follow-ups, since she's familiar with gastric bypass. I cancelled my 1-year appt with my surgeon via faxed letter and requested to teminate my status as a patient. I know they got the letter because I didn't get a reminder call prior to my appointment, but I didn't even get so much as a letter of response back. It tells me I've made the right decision.
