Dr. Oz today

I don't know if today's Dr. Oz was a rerun, but it was so powerful. He had 4 morbidly obese women who make most of their living with videos (I'm assuming live feeds) of them eating while men who apparently think its a turn on watch. A couple of them want to earn the title of the fattest woman in the world. In addition to these 4, there were all 4 other MO women who didn't want to be that way any more and were talking to the other women wondering why they wanted to continue being so fat. The MO women who wanted to stay fat felt they were really sexy and said they would look in the mirror and really love what they saw. In a way, I sort of respect that they were able to see sexy but the reality is that they were all on the road to bad health and chronic pain. The woman who currently hold the title of the fattest woman in America was interviewed via video and was very blunt about how miserable she is. Her sharing her information helped turn two of the fat and loving it women around enough to encourage then to stay long enough to hear moe from Dr. Oz and the therapist he had there with him.

I just brought home, again, how important it is that we do the emotional work along with the physical work. Every one of these women was at least 300 pounds and as they revealed their stories, it became very evident as to why they gained weight, although one of them was in complete denial that it effected her. I truly hope she will be able to see whatever her truth is and begin to heal. Actually, I wish this for all of them.

That's extremely sad! And yuk to the men that thinks that's hot.

I saw the show and I felt sorry for some of those women. I think some of them have web pages and users who support them so they have to do this in some cases for a living. I believe one of the women was, or is, an obese porn star or performer. I think and this is just my opinion, I am not a doctor, but I feel some of these women have a death wish and they are going to get their wish soon. Their death may or not be sudden. Like Dr. Oz tried to tell them, their death may be long and painful. After I retired from my regular job in information technology management, I took a job in a hospital to help my kids in college. I was the guy who cleaned the bodies of persons who had died. Put their false teeth in, closed their eyes, pulled the tubs out, and put a new gown on them ready for the undertakers. I have seen people die of all kinds of problems. Let me tell you that going with obesity and diabetes is very cruel and long. I would not wish that on anyone. These women should go to a hospital and see what terminal diabetic patients look like. Some say they don’t have diabetes yet, but they will.

Larry, your story is really powerful. Except for some of the things I see on CSI shows, that is all I know about what it takes to prep a body prior to the mortuary. What an eye opener. And you are right, I believe one of the women had been a porn star. It was very interesting to see how each woman reacted when they were asked who told them they were worthless. And which of the two who were fat and loving it walked out. It was painful to watch the one walk.

As far as I have to go on this journey, I will say that I am well. Eyond where these women are emotionally. I hope they will be able to grow and learn more about themselves and learn how to become healthy in mind and body.
