Normal feels weird....

More than once in the past few weeks, I have been just walking along (in a store for example) and it suddenly hits me... no one is looking at me because I am super-morbidly obese anymore. 

This should thrill me, but honestly being "normal" feels suddenly weird... off-kilter.  Happened to me at Target just yesteday even.

Not sure why this would suddenly hit me like this.  Does anyone else know what I mean?  Or am I going off my rocker?

I know exactly what you mean.  I've felt it several times.  And I've had strangers comment to me about others who were obese which tells me they saw me as if I was thin. 

It's really hard to wrap my head around.  I know I still don't see myself as thin (size 10-12) even though others are seeing me this way.  I'm hoping to get there, but I think it's going to take much more time and counseling.

 I'm only 2 months out but down 60 lbs and every time I look in the mirror I think - Hmmmm who is that chick starting at me. hahaa 

I'll look at my face and be like wow-  those cheek bones, the jaw line, hmmmm Collar bones? What I have those? 

To top it off I'm getting male attention even double glances.  

Sooooooo - I completely understand what you are saying. haha

My husband never believed me when I told him people were starring. I haven't paid enough attention to see if they've stopped yet but I will start paying attention. I always hated the stares.
