VSG on 04/25/13

Good morning!

Just wondering if there is anyone here that has had the surgery and has Von Willebrands disease (blood doesn't clot like it should)?

I have Type I (mild). I meet with docs in Aug and I'll discuss it, but just wondering if anyone here has gone thru it.

Don't know anyone. BUT, surgeon's typically ask you to refrain from taking any blood thinner meds or OTC products. Vitamin E, aspirin, etc. are blood thinning. This helps minimize bleeding, so this is a topic you want to thoroughly discuss. It's likely ok, as long as your surgeon knows your complete history about this disease. DAVE
