Super bumed...

Well I don't think I will be having my surgery on the 10th after all. I got hit with the bombshell today they want me to pay $3500 up front. I don't have that kind of money saved up. I was expecing about $1000... So I will have to postpone my surgrey until I have the money... This really sucks.. I hope it doesn't mess with my insurance approval.. Anyone else had to go through something like this?

Check to see if the surgeon takes Care Credit and maybe you can go that route and pay monthly on the Care Credit? Just a thought. Good luck.

I am sorry! Will they work with you? My surgery was completely covered.

My surgeon was very upfront with all costs prior to scheduling surgery.  No surprises for me

Mine told me up front 622.00 for us and the hospital will bill you monthly for the rest. My deductible is 5000 but I have paid some already towards that so hoping I will only have to pay out of pocket around 3800 in payments. I am sorry you were hit with this but I would keep asking around and start selling stuff LOL!

United HealthCare?

I knew before I scheduled my first visit, so I had set it aside in my FSA...do you have an FSA?  Or does your employer contribute to an employee medical savings account?  The down side?  I had to come up with the cash (thankfully, I have a very awesome aunt), but it was fully reimbursed after I had surgery.  

Hopefully you can figure something out.
