Since you were having a little bit of pain on your left side, I think you should call your Dr. just to be safe. It does not cost anything to make that call and better safe than sorry. And you can have bright red blood from higher up that means it's a new bleed not old blood that's been in your intestinal tract for a while. If it were me I'd call the doctor.
