Gastritis vs gall bladder

Hello... I had RNY 7.22.10
A month ago, I started noticing a burning feeling in the back of my throat, called my bariatric nurse and talked to her about it.  She told me to get some OTC prilosec and start taking that.  For the last month I have had a dull pain in the center of my chest (not heart related) and the center of my back right above my bra strap.  Well, last week, I started really paying attention to it.  It starts acting up right after I eat.  I have been burping and passing gas everytime I eat.  I went to the ER this Friday because the pain was so intense.  I had an ultrasound done of all my internal organs, blood work, and a chest x-ray.  The Dr. came back and said that everything is fine, no issues with the gall bladder and diagnosed me with gastritis.  She gave me protonix and told me to follow up with a GI Dr.. From what I understand protonix can take up to a month before you see any results.  Keep in mind I was taking OTC prilosec for a month with no result.
I have 2 questions
1.  What are the chances all the tests came back saying nothing is wrong with my gall bladder, but my gall bladder is really causing the problem?
2.  Pre surgery I had acid reflux, and chose RNY because the part of the stomach that produces the stomach is no longer connected to the pouch.  So how can I still have acid issues?

Thanks!

Were you checked for a possible stricture? Maybe a endoscope might be a good idea. I would inquire with your gastrointerologist.

Gallbladder may not show problems on testing equipment, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not being problmatic. Again, gastrointerologist might be able to help there. Urosodile might assist.

Have you tried taking OTC Prevacid? I've been on that and generally only have problems when I forget to take my pill for more than a couple days.

I had no signs of gallbladder trouble on an ultrasound but when I went to nuclear med and they did a full scan it was only functioning @ 9%. It was removed the next day. I had my RNY on 6/24/11 and had my gallbladder removed 10/05/11.
