has anyone had to start their own support group?
Hey everyone,
quick question: has anyone ever had to start their own support group?
Right now there is no group, so a friend and I have decided to get the ball rolling. We had our first meeting a couple weeks ago, and plan on meeting again first week in Dec. Just wondering how you organize it, etc. Any informationw ould be VERY helpful!

No, I'm not near Pittsburgh, and yes, I am in Germany (husband is Air Force). There are a bunch of ladies in the area that have had surgery, but I wasn't sure if anyone had any tips/advice on how to "run" a group.
We had 8 people at our first meeting, and it went really well, we all walked away feeling so pleased that we could talk about the things that we had/were experiencing and weren't getting weird looks--other people actually understood what I meant when I said, I got the foamies.
There used to be a support group on base, but from my understanding it fizzled out, not sure exactly why, but that's what I heard.
