Comfort food is fat A food!
A really funny thing has happened to me since surgery. I have become a food connoisseur instead of a food addict. I'm trying new things and finding healthy alternatives to the fat foods I used to eat. I watch a lot more of the food network and cooking channels. I find that every time a cook or chef talks about "comfort food" it's usually some saucy, gravy, greasy, fatty or sugary thing. I enjoy the way I eat now but ya know the food I eat grilled and baked are not labeled as comforting. Why is that?
Irgsgt-o9,
This is off topic, but I saw that you are in Corpus Christi!!!! I just moved from that area a year ago. I lived in Portland and was stationed at the Ingleside base. I'm in Alabama now. Trying to get back to the area.
Just wanted to say it's nice to meet someone from my old neck of the woods.

In my opinion wherever there is fat, sugar and artificial carbs there is comfort to someone who is a carb addict. I never in a million years thought I would've been one of those until I was forced to change the way I eat. I literally went withdrawals coming of the carbs. Artificial carbohdrates is drug to the body just like drugs, alcohol, and smoking. When you quit the body doesn't like it till it gets completely out of your system. This is just my opinion and my 2 cents worth.
