Wait times

I was referred by my Dr for RNY in March, 11. I e-mailed the bariatric registry and they confirmed that my referral was recieved and that it was sent to Toronto Western. She told me to call them to check. I called and left a message and 2 weeks later I have had no call back.

has anyone else had this happen? how long does it normally take to get the surgery once you get referred?

Not sure how it works there in Canada.  But for me here in the U.S. I had to see the surgeon, then do some group exercise classes, then have a psych eval, then have a nutrition class, some pre op blood work and physical....then all info sent to the insurance for approval, THEN surgery.  From the time of my first appointment, until surgery was only like 2 or 3 months for me (which I was told was quick)...some insurances make the patient wait 6 months
