RNY on 09/19/13

I had my RNY on Thursday and ended up staying till Sunday because I had been sick on Friday night and didn't drink any of my water at all for over about 10 hours. Plus, they don't do surgeries on the weekend, so didn't need the bed. I found the care to be awesome!! I found the nurses very knowledgable and friendly. That certainly helps when trying to heal.

So now at home, the fun begins. Being that every centre is dofferent, here in Ottawa - I will just continue to be on all full fluids the next few days and then start changing over to soft foods. Not being hungry is the weirdest thing!!

I am a bit sore. Trying to decide how to sleep and what side is better getting into and out of bed. It's not easy!

I am so thankful for these message boards!

Welcome home! Glad to see you've recovered ok from your illness on Friday! Isn't it a strange feeling, not being hungry? I can get used to it, lol. Enjoy your stay at home, and good luck!

Sunny - I felt they did! It was great how they were helpful and just all around friendly. I didn't feel like I was bothering them or anything! When is your surgery?

Glad you had a great experience. I don't know when my surgery is but I got my appointment to meet Dr. Mamazza today, I meet him Nov 7. Cannot wait.
