When to phone the clinic (Ottawa)

There's no emergency; I'm just excited.

Last Tuesday I met Dr. Mamazza. I was under the impression that I would get a surgery date at that visit, but that did not happen. I've been told I will get a call. It's been a bit over a week. What is the typical wait time currently, does anyone know? Should I call the ladies at the front desk? I don't want to annoy them, but I do really want to write something on my calendar and mentally prep with an actual date in mind. Six boxes of Opti are sitting by my desk, just waiting to be prepared and drunk. :-)

I got the call with my date about 2 weeks after meeting with the surgeon.

Thank you! I will hold tight for another week....

I went to the support group in Cornwall earlier this month and many of the women got their call within 2 days. With that being my only information, one week seemed like a long time.

Lana will call you as soon as they slot the next batch of surgeries. I got a call within 2 days but I have heard some take up to 3 weeks. I agree you should wait another week.

Still no call? Poor you! You can always call Lana yourself too. For me it was 3 weeks until I got the call but be prepared when you do get the call she could be having you start Opti right away....it goes quick after that!

I met Dr Mamazza on April 4th and bought the Opti. Still no call. I called Lana twice since then and I was politely told to wait. She said she has a "stack" to go through. I don't want to end up on the bottom of the pile so I figure I won't call her again. The call will come when it's my turn. But it's been a long 3 weeks. After waiting for almost 10 months, it's the past three weeks that have seemed the longest. It's because I know I'm so close but not having a specific date is hard and not being able to plan for work etc.

I am still waiting and I met Dr. Mamazza in March! I haven't seen anyone get a surgery date in Ottawa for awhile. I thought I would know by now too. I try not to think about it too much as I am so nervous and excited.

You're right - there have been no new dates recently from Ottawa. I wonder if all three surgeons are still doing surgeries?

I met Dr. Mamazza on March 26th. There were 3 of us there to meet him and we had a great chat in the waiting room as he was running an hour late. I have read in other posts that the surgeries are booked the first week of the month. Hopefully we hear something by the end of next week.
